Research presented at International Conference on AMQoL 2012.

The DGIST HumanLAB research scientist Joonwoo Son, Ph.D. and research associate Myoungouk Park presented findings at the 2012 International Conference on Aging, Mobility and Quality of Life (AMQoL 2012) in University of Michigan on June 26, 2012.

Their presentation, entitled entitled “Assessment of Cognitive Workload Estimation Metrics for Younger & Older Drivers in a Driving Simulator,” Assessment of Cognitive Workload Estimation Metrics for Younger & Older Drivers in a Driving Simulator, assessed objective metrics for estimating drivers cognitive workload using driving performance, physiological arousal and eye movement, and suggested several effective measures for younger and older drivers. Dr. Son noted that these measures can be used for evaluating the design of in-vehicle information systems, and it would be worth to consider older drivers’ characteristics when choosing objective measures for estimating cognitive load.
