Joonwoo Son, Ph.D. (손준우)

 Joonwoo Son is a principal research scientist in the HumanLab and an adjunct professor in the Department of Infomation and Communication Engineering at the Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST). He holds a B.S., an M.S. and Ph.D. from Pusan National University, South Korea. He has worked as a senior research engineer at Daewoo Precision Ind. Ltd. and SiemensVDO, and has been a visiting researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MA, USA).

 Dr. Son's primary research interests are in the areas of design for older drivers, driver's workload assessment methodology (on-road & simulator study), advanced human-vehicle interface, eco-drive assistant technologies. He has recently led research and development programs for agencies including Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE), Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST), Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs (MLTM) and Hyundai Motor Company, among others. He has authored or co-authored many conference and journal papers on a wide range of automotive engineering, human factors and transportation topics, and has consulted for various private companies and government agencies.


  Myoungouk Park

 Myoungouk Park is a research engineer in the HumanLab, working on analyzing experimental results of distraction and eco-driving experiments in a driving simulator and on-road car. Her research interests are in the areas of driver's workload assessment methodology and eco-drive assistant technologies. She has currently participated in research and development programs for agencies including Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE) and Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST).
 
Hwa-kyung Shin

Hwa-kyung Shin is a visiting professor in the HumanLab and Dept. of Physical Therapy at the Catholic University of Daegu. She holds an M.S. and Ph.D. degree in Dept. of Physical Therapy at Yonsei University. Her major field of study is pediatric physical therapy, physical agents and EMG & Motion analysis ect. She is interested in driving simulator for rehabilitation of older drivers and brain injury patients.

 Hojeong Kim is a Senior Research Engineer in the DGIST. He completed his Ph.D. degree in computational neuroscience at University of Alberta. He has work on CDx-based precision medicine with our team.

 Minjeong Kim is a Research Engineer in the DGIST. She completed her Master degree in robotics at DGIST(Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science & Technology). She has work on CDx-based precision medicine with our team.

  Suwan Park, Ph.D. 
Research Engineer
Suwan Park has involved in implementing vehicle simulator and on-road car for driver distraction and eco-driving experiment and developing algorithms of estimating driver distraction. He received a B.S. in Genetic Engineering and an M.S. degree in Computer Engineering from Kyungpook National University. In 2010, he completed his Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering at the same university.Dr. Park's research interests are driver's workload assessment (on-road & simulator) and advanced human-vehicle interface.

  Yongtae Lee, Ph.D.
Research Engineer
Yongtae Lee has been a research engineer in the HumanLab, working on conduction older driver's distraction experiments in a driving simulator and on-road vehicle. His research interests are in the areas of design for older drivers and driver¡¯s workload assessment methodology. He had participated in research and development programs for agencies including Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE), Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST), Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs (MLTM) and Hyundai Motor Company.

Manho Kim, Ph.D.
Research Engineer
Manho Kim has been a research engineer in the HumanLab, working on developing an audible warning system design guidelines for older drivers. His research interests are in the areas of an audible warning design for older drivers and advanced human-vehicle interface. He had participated in research and development programs for agencies including Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE), Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST), Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs (MLTM) and Hyundai Motor Company.

 
Hosang Oh
Research Engineer

Hosang Oh is a research engineer in the HumanLab, He received a B.S. and M.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Konkuk University. He is currently working on developing algorithms of estimating driver's distraction based on the EXG signal. His research interests are in the areas of driver's workload assessment methodology and eco-drive assistant technologies. He had participated in research and development programs for agencies including Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE) and Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST).


Jaegeun Lee
Research Engineer
Jaegeun is a research engineer in the HumanLab, He completed his B.S. degree in Electronic Engineering at Keimyung University in 2009 and his M.S. degree in Electronic Engineering at Kyungpook University in 2012. He has been studied the algorithm of shadow detection using the infrared sensor during Masters. He is currently working on programing the communication of vehicle and data acquisition equipments. He had participated in research and development programs for agencies including Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST).

  Yunsuk Park
Research Engineer
Yunsuk Park has been a research engineer in the HumanLab, working on conducting experiments of distraction and eco-driving experiments in a driving simulator and on-road car. She has performed research administrative and office support activities. She has currently participated in research and development programs for agencies including Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE) and Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST).

Jinwoo Park
Research Engineer
Jinwoo Park has been a research engineer in the HumanLab, working on developing algorithms and data analysis. In addition, he has conducted the study of fuel consumption in the driver's driving style on load driving experiment. He completed his B.S. degree in Electronic Engineering at Keimyung University in 2011.
  Taeyoung Lee
Research Engineer
Taeyoung Lee is a research engineer in the HumanLab, working on implementing a driving simulator and on-road car for driver distraction and eco-driving experiments. His research interests are in the areas of driver¡¯s workload assessment methodology and eco-drive assistant technologies. He had participated in research and development programs for agencies including Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE) and Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST). In addition, he has conducted the study of fuel consumption in the driver`s driving style on load driving experiment. Taegeun Kim

Taegeun kim is a research engineer in the HumanLab, He completed his B.S. degree in Mechanical & Automotive Engineering at Keimyung University in 2012. He is currently working on implementing a driving simulator and on-road car for driver distraction and eco-driving experiments. His research interests are in the areas of driver's workload assessment methodology and eco-drive assistant technologies. He has currently participated in research and development programs for agencies including Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) and Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP).

Kwanghee Won, Ph.D. 
Postdoctoral Research Engineer
Kwanghee Won is a Post-doc researcher in the Human Lab. He received B.S. and M.S. degree in computer engineering from Kyungpook National University, Korea. And he received PhD degree in computer science and engineering from the same university. His research interests include 3D computer vision, computer graphics and augmented reality.


 
Yonghoon Kim 
Research Engineer
Yonghoon Kim is a research engineer in the HumanLab, He is working on developing embedded systems for auto vehicle driving. His research interests are in embeded system & CAN communication. He has worked as a senior research engineer at Corelogic fabless company. He completed his B.S. degree in computer science at taegu catholic University  and his M.S. degree in Electronic Engineering at Kyungpook University. He has currently participated in research and development programs for agencies including Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE). 




Bawul Kim Research Engineer
Bawul Kim is a research engineer in the HumanLab. He received his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from University of Minnesota in 2012. His emphasis area was Bioelectricity and Instrumentation. He received his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Pennsylvania in 2013. He is currently working on acquiring drivers’ physiological signals and analyzing their driving performances. He is interested in developing advanced vehicle technology using driver’s biological signals. He has currently participated in research and development programs for agencies including Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) and Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP).



Geonsoo LeeResearch Engineer
Geonsoo Lee is a visiting research engineer in the HumanLab. He received his B.S. degree in Mechanical & Automobile Engineering at Keimyung University. His research tasks are driving simulator and 3D modeling. He is interested in 3D computer graphics and augmented reality.
Yunmin Oh
Adjunct Senior Research Engineer
Yunmin Oh is an adjunct senior research engineer in the HumanLab and director & chief consultant of ESG Ltd. Co. He obtained his B.S. from Seoul National University (1995), M.S. from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) respectively (2006). He has worked as a senior research engineer at Korea IBM, Telelogic Korea, and Daewoo Information System Ltd. etc. and has been working in numerous projects.


Taehwan Kim 
Research Engineer
Taehwan Kim is a research engineer in the HumanLab. He received his undergraduate degree in Embedded System Engineering from University of Daegu in 2017.
 His emphasis area was Embedded System Architecture and SoC(System on a chip). He is interested in developing advanced vehicle technology using Embedded System.

Research Engineer
Sanghwan Park is a research engineer in the HumanLab, He completed his B.S. degree in Computer Engineering at Chungbuk University in 2014 and his M.S. degree in Computer Science at Chungbuk University in 2016. He has been studied the embeded system during Masters. 
 
 
 Jonggyu ShinResearch EngineerJonggyu Shin is a research engineer in the HumanLab, He completed his B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering at Kumoh National Institute of Technology in 2015 and his M.S. degree in Industrial Engineering at Kumoh National Institute of Technology in 2017. He has been studied the Ergonomics during Masters.

 
 Jinwoo ParkSenior Research Engineer
Jinwoo Park is a senior research engineer in the HumanLab. He completed his B.S. degree in Mechanical & Automotive Engineering at Keimyung University in 2008 and his M.S. degree in Computer Science at Kyungpook National University in 2014. He has been studied the embeded system during Masters. He has been worked on vehicle component company developed transmission gear shift lever using CAN communication.
 
Jihyuk Park
Research Engineer
Jihyuk Park is a research engineer in the HumanLab, has completed his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering at Kyungpook National University in 2012 and his M.S. degree in Robotics Engineering at Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology in 2015. He has been engaged in implementing the whole system of rehabilitation robot for upper limb. Also, he has studied the brain activation according to the speed of passive movements by a hand rehabilitation robot. From August 2017, he joined the HumanLAB as a research engineer, participating in building the Autonomous Driving System (ADS). 
 
 Sungryul Park, Ph.D.
Post-doctoral Researcher
Sungryul Park is a post-doctoral researcher in the HumanLAB, DGIST. He received his doctoral degree in Human Factors Engineering from UNIST in 2018. His research interests included automotive ergonomics, visual ergonomics, user experience, and usability. He is working on a research project on automated driving technologies.
 
 Seyoon Kim.
Research Intern
Seyoon Kim is an intern in the HumanLab. He is scheduled to receive bachelor's degree in Industrial Management & Engineering from Korea University in 2019. He is interested in Deep Learning, especially in visual recognition. He is now participating in building the Autonomous Driving System (ADS).
